ISO 18404 Alignment:
ISO 18404:2015 Quantitative methods in process improvement - Six sigma - competencies for key personnel and their organisations in relation to Six Sigma and Lean implementation. The Standard defines the competencies for the attainment of specific levels of competency with regards to Six Sigma, Lean, and "Lean & Six Sigma" in individuals.

1. Training
Lean Methods Institute’s Black Belt, Green Belt and Lean practitioner training are based on the international standard, to ensure internationally recognised standard or consistent approach.
2. Project Work
Skills and competence are developed through application, and by completing Lean and/or Six Sigma business improvement projects where individuals are able to put into practice what they have been taught. Submission of a portfolio of evidence of practice is required.
3. Individual Assessment
Lean Methods Institute assesses an individual’s competency against the competencies outlined in the Standard through approved online knowledge tests .
Design for Six Sigma and Yellow Belt are not included in ISO 18404:2015.
